As our son has grown we have tried a couple of different bottles, trying to get the right fit for our baby. We started off with different bottles from different 'free baby boxes' some worked and some did not. This is also just my experience with the bottles and other little ones may prefer a different style.

Our Top Pick - Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple

While this wasn't the first bottle we tried and he liked, once he was able to latch better this has been my bottle of choice. With different flows of nipples for their growth I have used this bottle for months with no issues. I understand that some people may not like plastic bottles but these are what worked for us and were not very expensive.

Pros-

    ~Baby's current preferred bottle.

    ~Good wide nipple for baby.

    ~Not many parts to clean.

~Milk does not come out unless baby is trying to suck.

Cons-

~Wider bottle takes up more space.

~Milk sometimes gets caught on top on the nipple and needs to be angled vertical to get it all.

While we have not tried these bottles yet and do not know much about them in use I have seen them and would like to try them.

Second Choice - Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Anti-Colic Narrow Baby Bottles

These were the first bottle that our son really used and was able to drink good out of from the hospital. Pretty simple bottle (other than the anti-colic tube). These were our primary bottles for the first few months and our son would not use anything else. The hard part with these is there were a good amount of parts and took time to clean all the holes properly. As he got older and did not need the anti-colic anymore these bottles became much easier to clean.

Pros-

~First bottle baby would really use.

~Thinner bottle and easy to hold.

Cons-

~Lots of parts to clean and sterilize.

~Some milk can leak if you don't screw the top on enough.

~Bottle will leak if flipped upside down and will spill milk in the cap.

Philips Avent Anti-colic Baby Bottle with AirFree Vent

This was another bottle that we tried while working on finding a good bottle for our baby. They have a flap that helps with colic and when we started giving baby more milk this was the bottle he would drink the most out of. The issue with it being the one he drank out of most was we accidently put the wrong nipple on it from another bottle and did not realize it until we purchased more of these bottles. These bottles with a MAM bottle nipple actually worked  really well for him.

Pros-

~First bottle he would drink a lot out of.

~Helped with getting gas out of him.

Cons-

~The flap insert we had break on us which worried us about them breaking while he is drinking from it.

~Extra part to clean

MAM Easy Start Anti-Colic Bottle

We got these bottles thinking that with the bottom unscrewing it would make it easier to clean the bottle. After trying to use these bottles we just discovered it was an additional part to clean and as tired newborn parents we wanted quick and easy to clean bottles.

Pros-

~Baby in the first 2 months really liked this nipple.

~Comes apart to clean the bottom easier.

Cons-

    ~Additional part to clean.

~He started to dislike the flat nipple.
