We all have games that, while may not be our favorite game of all time, are games that we have spent a ton of time in just because its fun. It could be just mindless fun as something to do while watching a show, or something you just want to perfect. Here are my top 3 played games when it comes to hours:
1. World of Warcraft - This came out around at the perfect time for me, while I did not start in Vanilla I started during the first expansion The Burning Crusades. This game at the time was life-changing for me. Before this I had only played free to play MMO games and this was so much different than those. I started with my Night-Elf Rogue, finishing off my tour as an Alliance main with my Draenei Paladin. Towards the end of Wrath I went Horde all the way and never looked back. While I know so much has changed since I quit during Legion, World of Warcraft has a special place in my gaming heart.
2. Terraria - I started playing Terraria when it first came out, as someone that played a good amount of Minecraft when it came out, Terraria was next level compared to it for me, this was my big sandbox game. As a big fan of Legend of Zelda this felt like I belonged playing it, I could dig if I wanted, I could fight monsters if I wanted, I could hunt for treasure. The game has only gotten better over time with updates and the modding community.
3. Call of Duty: Warzone - While I never would have thought of putting this here I feel like I spent an obscene amount of time playing Warzone. While I was never a big FPS player and never played a Call of Duty before Modern Warfare 2019 (which I only played a few matches in). When Warzone came out at the start of the Pandemic in 2020 it finally just clicked with me. Long nights with the boys working on getting our W's is some of the most memorable times I have gaming. While current updates have made it so we have moved on from playing the current iteration of Warzone, I loved this time.
